to celebrate our 30th year in Virginia.

Below are the organizations that mean something to our agency and agents. These are local charities and associations that are doing their best for our communites.

    The Little Black Dress Initiative is a poverty awareness campaign: The Little Black Dress Initiative (#LBDI) is a week-long awareness and fundraising campaign that harnesses the power of social media and doing something “a little different” in order to educate people about local issues that Leagues work on in their communities.

    In February 2017, Jill Zebrowski Cichowicz’s twin brother died from an accidental drug overdose. To help manage her grief, and as a way to bring something positive out of her family’s devastation, Jill created the Scott Zebrowski Scholarship Fund in partnership with the The McShin Foundation, a Richmond based addiction treatment center.

    Established in 1994, we have grown beyond a monthly public food distribution to also be client specific Homebound food care, and emergency homeless food releif. To compliment this outreach, we have created a CARE ( Community Aid Resource Exchange) Program that allows us to help with a variety of resources beyond food.

    Charlotte County Meals on Wheels delivers meals to homes of the elderly and people with disabilities who connot prepare meals for themselves. Meals are delivered to clients by our dedicated volunteers

    The store, which is managed by volunteers Jim Snow, Barbara Snow, and Linda Walls, is well-stocked with a wide variety of donated, gently-used, every-day items at bargain prices. In addition to supporting the shelter, Tailwaggers helps those in our community to purchase items they might otherwise not be able to afford and presents the opportunity to educate the public about the shelter and our work for the homeless animals of Southside Virginia.

    Chartered in 1953, the Rotary Club of South Richmond is made up of local business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian services throughout the local community, the state and the world while having a great time doing it. Our projects cover a wide range of humanitarian aid from providing college scholarships for deserving area students, to providing a rolling dental clinic helping thousands of needy children in Guyana, South America . While we are not the largest Rotary Club in our area, we certainly feel like we are the best.     In remembrance of Scott Zebrowski, help give someone the gift of recovery!
    Scott was a unique young man who had the biggest heart. He would give the shirt off his back and spent many hours volunteering at church, often buying food for homeless people he would meet on the street. He was a devout Catholic and made family his priority, always saying “family is everything." Scott loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to him as “Uncle Scotty." Although Scott was a very giving person, he battled privately with a substance use disorder. He fought hard for years but unfortunately the addiction took him over, and he died from an accidental overdose on February 28, 2017. Scott’s twin sister Jill has set up the Scott Zebrowski Scholarship in his memory to help others find help from a Substance Use Disorder.

    The Sprout School provides a full day, high-quality early childhood education for children age 2 months to 5 years old. The Sprout School offers financial aid and thus encourages all families to apply, regardless of income.
